Congratulations to both Women and Men Futsal Team that represented Harwood Timber in the International Day of Forests 2017 Futsal Tournament for being the Champion for both categories .
On Thursday , 23th March 2017 , Harwood Timber Sdn Bhd took part in the International Day of Forests 2017 Futsal tournament hosted by Forest Department , at Dewan Muhibbah Bintulu which saw teams representing different agencies battling it out for the Champion trophy . Among other teams who participated were Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) , Sarawak Forestry Corporation AND Forest Department .
Futsal , the world’s fastest growing indoor sport , showcases close ball skills , increased touches , quick decision making , creativity and tactical nous . Some of the world’s leading football stars , such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo ,
honed their ball skills with futsal .
The free-flowing game has witnessed significant growth throughout Harwood Timber and other local agencies in the industry over recent years , as a sport in its own right .
Overall , Harwood Men and Women team won the most for the league and went back with a gold medal and Champion Trophy . Everyone had an great time during the game and it was a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other in the industry . We are looking forward to see everyone again next year and hopefully more agencies will join the fun and excitement of the sport .
