During HTSB 30th Anniversary in October 2015 , Sarawak Forestry Corporation Sdn Bhd and Harwood Timber Sdn Bhd had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (M.o.U) witnessed by our Right Honourable Chief Minister of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Haji Adenan bin Satem . The M.O.U between Sarawak Forestry Corporation Sdn Bhd and Harwood Timber Sdn Bhd is to establish a basis of cooperation and collaboration on joint establishment of forest plantations as well as Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) with indigenous tree species . It is also a framework for both parties to promote the greening process especially for degraded landscapes throughout the state of Sarawak .
In line with the Chief Minister’s vision of future reliance on supply of timber from planted forests , as well as improving the well-being and the environment of the rural communities , a Pilot Project on Kelampayan was launched on the 23rd of March 2016 . The launching was attended by HTSB Executive Chairman , YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Amar Hj Bujang Mohd Nor and HTSB new Director , Datuk Dr. Hj. Wahbi Bin Hj. Junaidi . HTSB General Manager , Tuan Haji Abdul Hadi and Sarawak Forestry’s CEO , Mr. Wong Ting Chung alongside other staff of HTSB and Sarawak Forestry Department .
The launching begun at 1100 am , with a briefing on the Kelampayan Project by Mdm Evelyn Jugi from Sarawak Forestry
