Harwood Timber Sdn Bhd (HTSB) had actively engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects by giving donations and contributions in the forms of monetary or in kind to the charitable organizations and other institutions. CSR involves a range of activities which required us to work closely with local communities and develop relationship with our employees and customers.
Recently, a remarkable event was held on 4th October 2016 at Sarawak State Library for the handing over "Belian" benches Ceremony by Harwood Timber Sdn Bhd to the Sarawak State Library (PUSTAKA) as one of our CSR initiatives in highlighting the importance of preserving and maintaining the park for the communities at large. Executive Chairman of HTSB, YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Amar Hj Bujang Bin Mohd Nor handed FOUR (4) benches to the Sarawak State Library. They will be placed around the PUSTAKA Park for the public. This significant event was aimed to initiate a collaborative effort between HTSB and PUSTAKA in ensuring the park remains as a clean, beautiful and a safe place for everyone to enjoy their recreational activities.

YBhg Datuk Alfred Yap Chin Loi was giving a speech representing the Chairman of PUSTAKA. In his speech, he said the program was not only aiming to educate the community about the importance of preserving the park, but also to encourage the participation of the public in PUSTAKA quarterly flower and tree planting activity. He added that this would be an opportunity to embark on the collaborative effort between PUSTAKA and other interested individual or agencies to allocate their time and volunteer in effort or resources in beautifying the park.
